Barry Fernald
Barry is President of Fernald Investments, a private real estate investment company based in northern California. He is an architect and formerly one of the owners of Devcon Construction, Inc., and Senior Partner of Martin-Devcon, a real estate development arm of Devcon, where he led Devcon’s design and development activities for office, commercial, residential and industrial real estate in Silicon Valley. Barry was a founding investor in several Silicon Valley banks and was a board member of Franklin Select Realty Trust (part of the Franklin Templeton Group). Barry also served for seven years as Chairman of the Board of the San Jose Jet Center, Inc., a private aviation facility located at the Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport. In 2007, he directed the successful sale of the Jet Center. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of J. Lohr Winery, and is partner in J. Lohr Vineyards. Barry is very philanthropic and also serves on several boards and committees for local non-profit organizations. Barry is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley.
Rick Garibaldi
Rick is a private investor to NES; he brings 25 years of experience as an executive in technology sales, sales management and general management for companies including IBM, First Data Corp., Electronic Arts and Hitachi Data Systems. Rick has held senior executive positions in sales and sale management, successfully managing multimillion-dollar sales organizations and their selling efforts to Fortune 500 companies. As a general manager, Rick managed a large multimillion-dollar data center operation providing computer services to financial institutions in the western United States. Rick received his MBA from California State University at San Jose in 1972.
Tom Steipp
Tom most recently was President and CEO of Symmetricom, Inc. (Nasdaq: SYMM); he joined Symmetricom in 1998, as President and Chief Operating Officer of Telecom Solutions, a division of Symmetricom. By the end of 1998, he was promoted to President and CEO of the entire company. From 1996 to 1998, Tom was Vice President and General Manager of Broadband Data Networks at Scientific Atlanta, where he led the development and deployment of one of the industry’s first cable modem solutions. Prior to that he spent 17 years at Hewlett-Packard, where he held a number of marketing and general management positions in their Disk Storage, Networking and Federal Government Divisions. Tom spent eight years in the United States Air Force as an instructor pilot in T-38 aircraft and an electrical engineer.

Mike brings more than 30 years of experience in growing high-tech communications companies from emerging to market leader status, most recently he was Chairman of Extreme Networks (Nasdaq: EXTR). Mike was President, Chief Operating Officer and a Director of Octel Communications from 1995 to 1997, after having served as Executive Vice President since 1986. His extensive communications industry experience also includes holding executive positions at Rolm Corporation from 1979 to 1986, rising to General Manager of the National Sales Division.
